What an awesome young man Saxon is.
I can see the resemblance.

Re: saxon at judo
he's learned something there. at first he was just goofing around, at the last competition at the bottom end (maybe last). but that's when it clicked 'if I don't do better, i'll embarrass myself for nothing.' so he started to work at it and got better.
so we're all happy.
Re: saxon at judo
He's a child. He was bound to goof around at first, as most boys of his age'd do, but now he's come second in a competition, which's a very good position to be in, if he's serious about learning the art, he'll want to do better. The thing is, they also have to learn to lose gracefully, and it looks as though Saxon did that by being happy with what he managed to do. It's not too easy when you have people watching you, either, so yes, he did VERY well.

Re: saxon at judo
That's true, but the argument for self defence doesn't carry too well these days. Not only are people learning it to gain confidence and to physically protect themselves, but folk with aggressive natures're doing it as well - to protect themselves from folk fighting back! : (
Re: saxon at judo
meanwhile, saxon got a gold samurai badge and was literally speechless for a spell. in his case that is saying something, lol!
what's a samurai badge? no clue...

Re: saxon at judo
Well maybe it was awarded to him for taking part in the competition? I know that when my friend's daughter went to Mexico to represent her UK karate club, she came home with an embroidered badge and a signed picture of herself with the tournament's winners.
Re: saxon at judo
they sure get loads of paraphernalia... I can't wait for them to start collecting trophies.... they're normally so bloody ugly...
