Re: The Velvet Underground..
Oh yes. Well, Perfect Day and Walk on the Wild Side're the only ones that I can recall hearing.
Re: The Velvet Underground..
Yes, but you know more music than I do, T. I'm sure you know of more bands than I do, and different sorts of music.
Re: The Velvet Underground..
I think I've read all I need to know !
Re: The Velvet Underground..
No matter. You're still well up on it. I've seen more live bands than I can count, but I've seen some of them several times, and they've mostly been within a certain rock genre. You have a wider experience of listening to different sounds.
Re: The Velvet Underground..
music is very stimulating ..
I couldn't just listen to one single genre..

Re: The Velvet Underground..
Nor me, but you know what I mean. I like certain bands, and can listen to them for quite a while. I played Maiden's Empire of the Clouds yesterday, off their latest album. It's epic, in every way, but I didn't know what the hell it meant. On looking things up, it was really interesting - about a huge dirigible (air ship) that was made in 1930. It crash-landed in France, killing all but 6 of its 48 occupants, who were hoping to fly to India in 6 days. There's apparently a monument where the accident happened. The craft was large enough to've carried the Titanic inside it, but it was too heavy to withstand the journey, and it came down and exploded. : (
Re: The Velvet Underground..
Massive craft wasn't it? Very sad story though. I listened to the song again on Christmas Eve while everyone was at church. Fabulous instrumentals.
Re: The Velvet Underground..
indeed , indeed....'pon my word Icey!
Re: The Velvet Underground..
I've told you before - Empire of the Clouds, Iron Maiden. It's very long, but with some magnificent solo playing interspersed, and the words're spot on, describing what happened within the verses. The intro lasts for just over 2 minutes, and the song builds up as it goes along.
