No more than other dogs of a similar breed, but they can suffer from breathing problems like bulldogs sometimes do, and seriously, the eyes of a pug can cause problems as well. The flatter the face, the more laid-back the eye sockets are, so their actual eyeballs tend to be prominent. This can cause irritation and pain. You also have to keep round their eyes and noses clean, because infections can occur under the rolls of fat and in between facial wrinkles.

I prefer larger ones, although they're ALL alright really. I just couldn't see myself walking a chihuahua. It'd be like leading a rat!!
