Re: Music
Actually I read on the Official Youtube upload of this song, that someone commented on it, saying that it looks as if Olly the lead vocalist of Years & Years is describing a relationship in which the singer feels like a king when he’s with his lover, but since the relationship is destructive, he wants to break away from it. Apparently the singer said so!!Icey wrote:The only trouble with the lyrics you posted, is that the song's said to be about drugs, which I wasn't into.
Another person agreed with the above statement as well.
Mind you, that's what's so amazing about music. For everyone it can mean different things. To Olly it's about an intoxicating relationship with someone, but other people could see this as drug abuse.
In my opinion I reckon this song is actually about him wanting a relationship to end.

Re: Music
I too am glad that it's not. Not many people like electronic synthesized music like I do, but I absolutely love listening to it.
However I still do enjoy songs of the past, such as 80s, 90s and some 70s music as well.
I also enjoy rock songs, such as Evanescence, and the like, among others too.
I may have said it before, but the music I'm not that keen on is Jazz and Rap, although there are some rap songs that I enjoy, such as the Black Eyed Peas songs

Re: Music
Yes, I know what you mean. I think you find the odd song or tune from all music genres which you wouldn't normally be interested in, but which strike you as being good now and again. I don't like rap either. To me, it's not music and the lyrics seem banal, BUT, I've heard one or two which aren't too bad, the same as with jazz sounds. In fact, I much prefer jazz to rap, but it boils down to individual taste and what you get used to.

this is a great live version of 'It's raining again' by Roger Hodgson,
The playing all round is excellant.

Re: Music
Quite nice for that type of stuff. I haven't heard a lot of his music, except for Valerie and this one ...
