I don't recognize those names, but I do know there are many freeloaders and problem children in both parties.
We need to vote out all the Rino's and troublemakers!

Apparently there are quite a few things, and people, you are not aware of regarding the Republican camp. That goes a long way to explain the opinions you express about Democrats. It's one thing to have a few aberrant members in a political party, but something entirely different when those radical representatives determine the direction and purpose of the party. We escaped total disaster the last time around, in spite of Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene being reelected. The proof of the pudding will be 2024.

When we voted, there were only like 3 wards with changes.
In our ward, there was the Incumbent, One Democrat, One Republican, and like a dozen Independents on the ballot.
And for many of the other offices, there was no one running against the Incumbent, other than sometimes an Independent.
There was one office in another ward, who only had One Democrat on the ballot for that ward. Talk about a shoe-in.
Besides, the way politics works these days, and the elections, I don't think we really elect anybody, they simply install who they want in that office.

I really don't see the Democrats having a chance in 2024 after all the damage Biden and the rest have done.
That is if we even have a country left by then.

I can't tell you hoe many times I heard and read that exact comment prior to the 2022 midterms. There is a reason why the forecast of a "Red Wave" never happened. Think about it. It may come to you eventually.

Just looking at the HOUSE: Currently 212D - 218R - 5 Districts still not called.

During the Obama years: 2010 R gained 63 seats - 2014 R gained 13 seats

In 2018, the Dems HATE TRUMP MOVEMENT, managed to get them back 42 seats
It was enough for them to gain control of the House, but they did not recover all 76 seats they lost.

In 2022 the Rep gained 5 seats, giving them back control of the House.

SENATE: Currently 50D - 49R - PA, NV, and GA in Runoff, so we don't know yet.

The HATE TRUMP MOVEMENT turned out very successful for the Dems, now they are reaping what they sowed!

Midterms almost always result in flipping one or both chambers of congress. The Republican party was very confident going into the 2022 midterms that history would repeat with a landslide scale victory for them. Even the main stream media jumped on the band wagon and predicted the demise of the Democrats. The wave never happened but more than likely the Republican party will control the House. Not so sure about the Senate, however. That anticipated big burst of Republican voters was a myth as was the supposed massive failures of the Democrats. I know you don't bother with looking any deeper than the conservative media headlines, but the reason midterms 2022 turned out the way they did was due mainly to Gen-Z voters turning out in massive numbers. Those are the folks born in the 90's and the same folks who seldom bother to vote at all. This time around they realized that the future of democracy in this country was at stake and they made a stand. These young voters are those who will be around to suffer or benefit from what we are doing right now, and they made their point clearly. The current agenda of the Republican party is unacceptable to them.

It's really a shame the younger voters prefer a communist style socialist agenda.
Perhaps if they studied history a bit better, they would already know what it is like.

It's not about accepting socialism or communism. It's about rejecting authoritarianism and losing long established rights. Think abortion. A lot of those Gen-Z folks were female.

And therein lies one of the problems. Watering Down Names so they sound much easier to bear.
Changing the word MURDER to Abortion, makes it sound OK to kill another human being.

Like Undocumented Citizen, or just plain Emigrant, instead of Illegal Alien.

Illegal Aliens get MORE BENEFITS that Citizens!

Changing the name does not change the essence of what is going on. Some people "believe" abortion is murder while others think more rationally. In any case the voting to which I referred was a clear stand taken by a huge number of people. Whether you agree with them or not does not change their message.

Let me ask you this. Since you don't think abortion is the murder of an unborn child. Then WHY, if you purposely or accidentally kill a pregnant lady is it a Double Homicide or Double Manslaughter as the case may be?
It is either a baby or it isn't, can't have it both ways!

I'm not going to argue abortion with you because we have extremely different points of view and I don't want either one of us to go into cardiac arrest as our tempers rise. My point in this discussion is that the last midterm election saw a lot of young voters participate due to the reversal of precedent by the currently conservative Supreme Court involving Roe vs Wade. What you and I believe made no difference to those women who were and are affected by that decision.

Science has come a Long Way since Rowe vs Wade took affect.
We now have hundreds of forms of birth control to prevent pregnancy, and/or terminate a pregnancy immediately on discovery.
Those options have not been taken away by reversing Rowe vs Wade.
What stirred the kettle were folks wanting an abortion at 9 months or even an hour after birth.
Even I am not against an abortion prior to the end of the first trimester, but it is still a baby by then with a brain and a heart.

The Greek philosopher Plato wrote a book, the Republic, wherein he described the perfect republic. I read it when I was in college an don't recall all the details of his ideal republic, but in essence he proposed weeding out all the weaklings so that only strong and productive citizens remained. Any kids or older folks who were not perfectly healthy got disposed of because they were a burden on society. His philosophy goes well beyond disposing of weaklings, but that idea stuck with me all these years. I'd probably be among the first to be terminated, but the concept of killing off the weakest members of society has a certain degree of sensibility about it. It certainly adds to the ethos, but I'm still undecided about its morality.

Along those same lines was the ideal penal system. Something that was tried many times in many places and worked well.
It worked especially well with thieves. When they were caught and sent to prison, they had to work to pay their room and board as well as earn enough money to pay their victim or victims back with interest.
Depending upon their level of honesty and behavior, the really bad ones worked inside the prison and prison companies, and the others could have jobs outside the prison. Once they completed their restitution to the victims, they would be released.
There were several pluses about handling theft criminals in this fashion, and pretty much stopped them from doing it again.
The prison was not a burden to society since the inmates were paying for their time there, instead of our taxes.
Other types of crimes had different methods, but in all cases, it involved restitution to the victims.
The way the justice system works today, it is a major tax burden on the citizens, and victims never see a dime back.

I've seen movies where they take the older folks at a given age and have them believing it is their honor to be killed for the good of all. I think they even did one such segment on Star Trek under the same concept.
We have a major problem with a generation of folks who are able to work, but are just too lazy to do so. And many of them have been living on government dole for so long, they've come to love that lifestyle. Many of them turn to criminal activities to get extra money for things. So this type of system is not working at all very well. And in most cases, really hurts the people who really need it and can't get it, like the disabled and seniors.

You may recall an incident at Sandy Hook school back in 2012. 20 school children and 5 adults were murdered by a guy with an assault weapon. Tell me what kind of ideal penal system would compensate for that. That crime was bad enough, but then there is Alex Jones the conservative talk show host and conspiracy theorist extraordinaire. He had a few choice words, none of which were favorable, regarding that Sandy Hook incident. Well, as you must know Alex has been sued by the victims and must now pay damages to the extent of $1.5 billion. Nobody knows the net worth of Jones, but it is very likely he can pay most if not all the awarded damages if he sold off everything. Well, he filed for bankruptcy to try and avoid dissolving his multiple businesses. It remains to be seen how much, if any, compensation the victims of this guy's cruelty will be given. However, the current criminal system worked to the extent that damages were awarded.

Then there is the 10 year old girl in Florida who was raped. She made headlines because the conservative governor of that state managed to establish laws that prevent abortion of any kind at any time. So, this young girl will be forced to carry the baby to term. The penal system in this case will not be awarding the victim any damages. In fact I've not heard or read anything about the rapist, but I have read about other ten year old girls in Ohio and Indiana who were raped and not compensated. And when you think about it, what kind of compensation can be given to a young girl who has had her dignity and self-esteem annihilated by some sex fiend?

Sometimes I think the Muslims have it right with their Sharia laws. Cut off the offending body part so that the perpetrator will not be able to repeat their crime.

Your Demonrat standing is quite clear in your comments.
To start with, there is no such thing as an Assault Weapon. Assault is an Action, not a Device!
I guess David Slew Goliath with an Assault Sling?

You cannot compensate someone who is dead, but you can Hang the Criminal by the neck until dead in town square!
Anyone can be sued by anyone over their comments, especially when made publicly by someone of high stature.
Libel and Slander can be sued for, and fall outside the area known as free speech.
Nevertheless, it was the Criminal who did the killing, not an inanimate object which could do no actions on its own.
Why is it Democrats always want to blame an Object, instead of the Person reaping the carnage?
And why do Democrats want to release all the Criminals from Prison?
And not make people who borrowed money with an agreement to pay it back, make taxpayers pay it back for them?

The people of a state are who vote for the lawmakers who make the laws they must follow.
If they don't like the type laws they are making, they either should not have elected them, and/or vote them out.
Way to many criminals only get a slap on the wrist, and the victims must suffer the rest of their lifetime.
Forced Rape is one instance where an Abortion should be allowed, of that I will agree.
But you have to be careful there too. There are many girls who scream rape after they find out they are pregnant who were willing participants and in some cases even instigated the instance.
There are a lot of underage girls out there playing the scene, and guys who were happy to oblige their desires, end up getting charged with statutory rape based on on the girls age, and not the fact they enjoyed getting guys to have sex with them.
If you only knew how many underage swingers there are out there, it would blow your mind!

Twenty children and five people charged with caring for them were slaughtered by a guy using an assault weapon, and all you can do is argue about the correct name for the gun. Then you go on to remind me that many of those young rape victims, mostly by incest, provoked their assailant and virtually asked to be raped. That's the exact line of logic most, if not all, the Republican party is using these days to promote their agenda. I certainly am glad not to be one of them.

Free speech, and First Amendment Rights by the way, only apply to congress and the laws they make. Even then there are times when restrictions are allowed.

And not one of the five people charged with caring for the kids chose to shoot back and stop the assailant.
If you see a crazed lunatic going into a school carrying heavy artillery. Do You: A. stand in front of kids as a shield, B. claim he is there for show and tell, or C. draw a bead on him and tell him to drop his weapon, where he either complies are gets killed, problem solved, nobody hurt.
But what do you do when our own government comes in and kills everyone in a school. E.g. Waco!

You have that backwards also. Free Speech gives US CITIZENS the RIGHT to say things about the government both good and bad without restriction. But it Does Not allow someone to yell FIRE in a crowded theater, for obvious reasons. Nor should it allow vulgar language as it used to.
Congress cannot make laws that the Constitution has delegated to the individual states, with very few exceptions which were first allowed by all states. Such as a drivers license valid in one state is valid in all states. But that does not apply to any other state licenses for anything else, just driving licenses.
The Constitution is there to RESTRICT what the government can do! It is OUR protection against Them!

I'm guessing you would agree with the former president and see good reason why the constitution should be suspended to allow him to take over the country once again. Your above line of reasoning certainly is leaning in that direction. And, I will only add that you have a right to express your own personal interpretation of the constitution, or any other topic for that matter. That's why we can be here to write about our unique perspectives.
