We are very concerned about Icey. She has been ill lately and we've not seen her for a month. It's not a good omen.

When I lived near Chicago there were a few times in my 70 years when the Northern Lights were visible that far south. It wasn't as amazing as the pictures here, but any sky phenomena like that takes my breath away.

At some point in the distant past we were getting a lot of British comedy broadcasted on our public television channels. I was always amazed because half the time the Brits were laughing at themselves.

my favourite aurora looked like this:

actually, maybe not my favourite... i'm thinking of another time where there were these pale blue/white curtains shifting and dancing in a meteor shower. that was spectacular...

where I've lived, you see them often enough, once you get away from the cities, but did you know that you can hear them, too? sounds like crackling, like really serious static happening.

I have heard stories about the crackles - it's a magnetic storm phenomena after all and a few sparks should be expected. The lights I've seen around Chicago were greenish blue and faint; spectacular to us city dwellers nonetheless.

I too watched all those sit-coms tomsk, all but Rosanne. She was too whiney or something. I didn't like her style of comedy.

Hey Yogi.
Oh no, I had a hunch that Icey was kind of ill. I think I will send her one more email just to see if she will reply to that. Although i guess she's too ill to even get to her PC or Laptop to tell us how she's doing. Awww, well if she ever does log in and reads this thread.... I hope you make a speedy recovery and hope that you will get well soon. We are all missing you very much Icey, and we hope to hear from you asap. :loveu:

To reply to vikki....wow I agree with tomsk, totally breathtaking!! :yikes:
Absolutely stunning. Thanks for sharing that wonderful shot.
