Apple cider vinegar with fish n chips!! Hmmm never tried that tbh....although I think I'll stick with normal vinegar

Oh yes indeed, cider vinegar is very edible. It can often be substituted for white vinegar. Apparently it gets digested normally but has an acid base that reacts with skin if it's applied properly.

'properly' was just a casual choice of words. I don't know if there really is a right and wrong way, but a bandage of some sort to keep the acid in place would seem like the right thing to do.

A sling seems like way more than necessary. The vinegar would be a topical skin treatment for a relatively small area at that.
