thank! i'll pass the word!

they really are goofy, but saxon is still pretty shy, although a couple of years ago he wasn't. :)

He's in a new country, and still coping with the language and new people he's meeting. It's probably not so much shyness, as lacking in confidence atm in case he makes mistakes, but he'll be fine later - you wait and see! : )

I think travel is the best education..

It's certainly a good thing, but you have to put roots down eventually, or you become a wandering gypsy with no real base.

Seeing the world's a definite plus though, but you need academic education as well.

Absolutely, and those who're fortunate enough to get the added travel in it seem to thrive really well.

i'm really curious about Saxon's improv dance moves... if I catch him so he doesn't know, i'll post some of his dancing around. since I can't dance at all, it looks good to me, but i'd like a second opinion...

Fire away! Not blowing my own trumpet, but I have an excellent sense of rhythm and timing, probably because I had ballet lessons from being really young, but sometimes people just have it. Let's have a look at Saxon and see ........
Maybe he's a budding Billy Elliot!

well, his father's a good singer/dancer, so maybe billy elliot it is, lol!

now, how to do the recording on the sly...?

I haven't a clue hun. Maybe start by playing some of the stuff he likes to dance round to, and rather than video him acting about, tell him that you want to film him, but dancing seriously - not being silly. Tell him to do his best, as you're going to show Auntie B!!!!! : )

If you try to do it secretly, he'll probably notice and then goof on purpose, but if you don't laugh, and tell him it has to be his best effort, you'll probably get the result you want.

I believe that dancing/rhythm can be passed down in the genes. My grandma loved music and was, by all accounts, a good dancer, the same as her father. So is my mother, and I seem to take after them, in that I don't have any difficulty in keeping in time. Maybe Saxon's the same, and just follows the beat of what he's listening to and gets it right. It's the same with lip synching. If you know the lyrics and tune, it shouldn't be difficult to mime.
