Re: How To Clear Snow in Kentucky

The counter company made a couple of those for us also. Plus the one they cut out where the sink goes they gave me to use to replace the seat in the bathroom shower. Which I never got around to doing. Actually, the product is basically Plaster of Paris, mixed probably with Gypsum, and used with more...

Re: Cold Feet

Don't know if I could explain this in writing or not. You could install a damper in the existing ductwork, just beyond where you add a take-off to feed under the floor joists. Or another way would be to install a Y diverter so you can select it for summer or winter, heating or cooling season. You on...

Re: Smug As A Bug

Well, it is possible in my OLDE AGE that I hit submit and it didn't go, or didn't appear to go, so I hit it again. But when I do that, I usually get the message I can't send a blank post. So I don't know what happened. Chromium is the base for a few web browsers. There was a period of time, on Debia...

Re: Flashpoint

I sleep on my right side, always have. I can't sleep on my back at all. Well, unless I sitting up type of sleeping, so I'm more sitting than laying. Of the copper cookware I've had, including the skillets, they were all lined with a thick nickle layer inside. Pain in the arse to keep the outsides cl...

Re: Hacking Linux Mint

I remember that story, forget the name of what they called it though. Well, I'm sending this message on the Silver Yogi Debian 10 Mint. I emptied my .cache file completely, but still it was over 10 gig in my /home directory but no files other than what were on the desktop. Apparently my settings cam...

Re: Cold Feet

Do you have a basement under the bathroom? If so, you can buy some flat steel sheeting to tack up under the floor joists. Then, from the ductwork that goes to the bathroom vent, have it pass into each of the gaps between the floor joists first, then go to the floor vent. Put it under the shower floo...

Re: How To Clear Snow in Kentucky

Our flower shop was long gone when I was busy studying how to make my light water meter and taking college classes on plastics. But you are right, I didn't need to learn anything for anyone else. I've always either worked for family or for myself, once I hit age 24 that is. I actually had chalk semi...

Re: Hacking Linux Mint

Now that was a phunny read. But I see it only applied to Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop. I run the Mate desktop, and don't have an on-screen keyboard at all. And I just checked my LInux Mint 19.3 and it does not have that caribo file or an on-screen keyboard either. Must be something unique to...

Re: Flashpoint

Many years ago, when I got the first Corning Stove with the ceramic cooktop. I took all of our cast iron pots and pans to a machine shop that did motor heads for cars. He only charged me five bucks each to grind them perfectly flat on the bottom, even the ones that had rings on them that held them u...

Re: Smug As A Bug

Hmm. It did? I only sent it once, and only saw it once on the feed before I moved on. Well, I didn't scroll back to see for sure, I do wonder, the reason I replaced my old mouse is because it was double clicking. I sure hope this new one isn't doing that. Well, I do know that when I get ready to set...

Re: How To Clear Snow in Kentucky

Oh I hear ya loud n clear Yogi! I took all the college classes that if I didn't take them as an auditor, I could have been a CPA and also earned an MBA. But to be 100% honest about it, I could have learned it all in half the time or less, simply because I was already doing all of it already. Even so...

Re: Smug As A Bug

I have used dist-upgrade after I did an update and upgrade, but only at times when I upgraded to a newer version. I would change the name in the repository to a new version name, like Jessie to Stretch, then do update, upgrade, and dist-upgrade. But then after that I never did dist-upgrade or full-u...

It would be easy to get electrocuted cooking hot dogs using AC applied directly to them, hi hi. I've never like mustard on a hot dog. For me it is not topping or ketchup only and nothing else. Yes, Teflon was banned years ago, but they gave companies 10 years to use up their inventories. Which appli...

Re: How To Clear Snow in Kentucky

Most of what I worked on is below the stuff you can see above the flooring. But some of it was above. There are a lot of pipes you don't see hi hi. The A-Frame misting cabinet is still in use, but has a new control console now. I remember my second vacation trip down to Epcot, long after I had worke...

When I can afford it, I buy Eusingers Hot Dogs, they are made the old fashioned way using chicken intestine casings, hi hi. But due to their high price, we usually buy Seitz or Oscar Mayer. The only way I eat hot dogs, normally, is on a hot dog bun with ketchup. I don't want onions are any other thi...

I like to keep the old version up and running until I know the new version has the bugs worked out of it, hi hi. After installing a new version, I have to check back with the old version to see what all I had installed too. I checked the clean install of Debian I put on a different computer that wor...

Re: How To Clear Snow in Kentucky

They build a Six-Flags in or near the Fenton area, and I was only there perhaps twice since it was built, and both of those times were for company picnics where my first wife's mother worked. The only thing we didn't have to pay for was admission, which saved a bundle, but we were limited only to ce...

Re: Smug As A Bug

We had to replace the LG fridge at about 4 years old. All of our LG appliances had bad problems when we got them, some still do. But our new fridge has like yours does, and the produce drawer seals to maintain high humidity inside. Sometimes I think too much since it sweats on the surfaces in that d...

Re: Flashpoint

Way back in the late 1960s I took flying lessons at Lobmaster Field. I still remember my instructors name, Dale Hand, retired Navy pilot. I had soloed there and while I was out on a day trip, they had the runway blacktopped. When I came in for a landing, with it looking much different, now jet black...
