Re: Non-Fungible Tokens
Greetings, down here metals, cardboard, glass and many kinds of plastics are selected and recycled almost everywhere... I know of at least three recycling companies within walking distance from where I live... As for landfills, also know about a few... It was news down here that a former landfill th...

Re: Memories Are Made of This
Just wondered, it's almost the same size, but not the same thickness, as a TO220 package.

Re: Just wondering (Motorola)
This thread opened the memory lane... Yep, I still have around a couple dozen printed Motorola Application Notes that were my reference for several stuff I was commisioned to develop... Remember that some of the Motorola semiconductors I bought in the early '90s, in my University years, came from Ar...

At least you can file your tax reports with different software, we can only use the software provided by SAT (Tributary Administration Service), and it only plays with M$ Windows... Bureaucracy at its finest...

Re: UPS Test
¿What UPS brand/model you got? I've been using the same UPS for 8 years, only thing it has needed is a battery replacement 3 years ago. Happened to know the manufacturer facilities, design and manufacturing area, they got my confidence and haven't let me down... Also have three copies of everything,...
Re: FWIW
Down here no insurance info was required, mostly the paperwork was for record purposes... What I found strange is that they didn't use the vaccination section on our health booklets, which the various government funded health institutes use for medical history followup... Anyway, we keep our anticov...

Re: Reeading on Easter Morning
Well, since there's a street light right in front of home, and bits of its light are let go inside at strategic points (as near the bathroom) We've tried to avoid letting any apparatus plugged or turned on when we are not using it. Add to that that I use every now and then to give maintanance to wha...

Re: What's Wrong With This Picture?
AC_Circuit.jpg The above image represents my (mis?)understanding of Alternating Curren, AC. Some device generates the AC current as explained elsewhere in this thread. The generator has two poles, one positive and one negative. All electric current, be it AC or DC, flows between the positive and ne...

Re: Reeading on Easter Morning
Indeed in both compact florescent and in LED lamps the weakest point is the power supply. They design it so weak for each model that it just barely powers the fixture... Just a cent per supply would make them last double the time, but they don't do it because the money flow gets lower for them. In t...

Re: Reeading on Easter Morning
As far as I remember, the idea in generation and transmission of electricity is to avoid electrostatic discharge to physical ground, so the neutral of the generator, and of each side of each power transformer are grounded. Now, theory says that for all practical purposes, it is best to reference all...
Re: FWIW
Thanks for the reply about antibody response, and understand what are you meaning to, since it seems the virus attacks not the globules, but rather the oxigen and nutrient exchange zones at capilars, thus provoking clots that do all the damage in the individuals. Yep, the explanade is quite large. T...

Greetings. I'm replying 72 hours after getting my first shot of Astra Zeneca anti COVID vaccine. By the way, Sis also had hers along with that of his husband, even when they live in another municipality 30 km away. As when taking my parents for their first shot, the shots were administered by Health...
Re: FWIW
I've just taken my parents for their first shots here in the municipality. AZ. Now to wait for the outcome, their second ones and the ones for the next age group... As for other shots, I got used to the flu and the tetanus ones every three years. Hope it all goes out smoothly.

Greetings, Hope that your recovery of your NAS drive doesn´t result in future issues... Almost a year ago, one of the first things I did when recluded due to the pandemica, was setting up a NAS based on a Raspberry Pi 4. IT went without issues, since I used some help from the web, with OpenMediaVaul...

Now, another posting. I think we can do this with other songs that we know well, but are not the original or the most popular version... In this case I don't know if the second version became more popular than the original, and the one I grew with was the translated one. Lyrics on the trnaslated one...
