Re: rodin museum
saxon was baffled by how many NAKED PEOPLE there were. and why were they all naked? and why could we look at all these naked ones here, but not on TV?
lol! kids.
Re: rodin museum
Like Saxon, it became apparent to me at an early age that classic art is dominated by nudes - fat ones nonetheless. Those angel cherubs in that church I attended when I was a wee lad would be considered child porn today.
Re: rodin museum
mind you, most of the women were, too. and definitely rump heavy. i wonder if the body type has changed or the taste in nudes?
Re: rodin museum
It's possible body sizes have changed in our modern times, but there is said to be an epidemic of over weight people. Nude models these days appear emaciated. I don't think there is a shortage of good food, but there may be a shortage of good taste.
Re: rodin museum
times have, indeed, changed!
Re: rodin museum
Ya, men go shopping for panties and bras to wear these days. And I don't even want to think about who goes into what restrooms. It's all very surreal.

Re: rodin museum
You have to pay? I haven't seen anything like that around here since I was a teenager.
Re: rodin museum
the way they work is, you go in, do your thing and leave. the door then locks closes and the whole interior gets sprayed with disinfectant. means if there's paper on the floor, it gets wet and stays there. usually not a problem. no toilet seat and of course, the toilet is wet, the floor is wet, the walls.... luckily there is also an alarm that goes off if you step in before the cleaning cycle, like i did - before reading the instructions...
Re: rodin museum
Any port in a storm, I guess. I like the idea of self cleaning, but can't imagine sitting down on a wet seat.
Re: rodin museum
Re: rodin museum
Around here I've not seen any public toilets actually located out in the public streets. It must be a European thing.
Re: rodin museum
Re: rodin museum
Malls and restaurants are where I've seen a majority of the public restrooms. Those, however, are not self-cleaning.

Re: rodin museum
Glad to see the originals. There are other originals (i.e. cast from the same molds by the Rodin shop and signed by Rodin) at the Soumaya Museum, the publicly exposed part of the private collection of Carlos Slim. Here in México City.
