Knismesis verses Gargalesis

Post by yogi »

What do you know about tickling? Did you realize it's actually a pain response, and of course you know you can't tickle yourself. And why the heck do we laugh when tickled, or are told a good joke for that matter? All these questions have been pondered over the ages and now some researchers think they finally have the answers: Knismesis and Gargalesis.

Very good!

Mind you, we can all experience knismesis by inserting a small object, such as the plastic top off a biro, just inside your nostril and moving it round. As soon as it touches any of the small hairs - you'll get tickled, or have a "shock" reaction.

I can "tickle" my own feet. I like it, whoever does it, as opposed to some folk who almost have a heart attack if anyone tries to tickle them there.

Strangely, I don't seem to get itches on my back.

This does, though ......
