Those who managed to come back from the brink - like Alice Cooper as well - are lucky. Then there was poor Sid Barrett .....

Well it seemed that they chose to imbibe quantities of mind-bending drugs back then, the same as some choose to spiral out of control on meth, crack and whatever else today.
I can sort of understand why some people want to experiment and experience the effects for themselves, but it's pathetic and dangerous really. Why want an altered state of mind, or to feel happy? You can get that just by embracing life, without taking chemicals to induce the same or enhanced feelings.
None of my family take drugs, and that includes antidepressants, which can be evil things. My friends don't take them either, although one or two've tried weed, but I consider that the least dangerous one - if you can say that. It still leads to psychosis in some people, but I'm not into the druggie scene. There's really no need for it.
