It happens to me that there are two songs, mostly released within months of each other, that make me think of the other song every time I hear any of them on the radio.

I can hear why one would remind you of the other. The rhythm is close to being the same in both videos and the vocalists have the same kind of distortion added to their voice. I often wonder why they do that. I suppose adding the reverberation makes it sound better, but then that would suggest their original singing voice sounds terrible. LOL
