gone girl

Post by pilvikki »

I was very eager to read this much touted book and a 'nail biter thriller'.

really? I don't know wtbh is wrong with me as I found the book well written and interesting to about 3/4 way through, after which it all went south. it seemed to me the writer had a good idea, but just could not figure out a good, clean ending, so waffled about and dragged it whole thing down.

pity.

I've found the same thing with other books, or the author suddenly gets a block and rushes the ending.

I agree, and I've actually found that in one or two of Stephen King's books. Can't remember the ones that struck me as being rushed, but once the dramas unfolded, you knew what was coming and the ending came too suddenly for my liking.
