Yes you must have to have longish fingers it's like a bass and a lead rolled into one...
It must be a nightmare to string up though..six strings is bad enough...

I'm sure the mechanics of laying down the strings is not so bad as the technique it takes to tune those strings. I would go nuts trying my best with six strings, but 24?

I'm betting now and days such things as lasers would be available to get each string perfectly on pitch. Back in my days it was all up to my not so good ears.
