Post by tomsk »

Marc Almond has just released his whole catalogue on CD...
I like some of Soft Cell...Marc has a great expressive voice...

Yes he does. His voice's immediately recognisable, and it's not a bad one. Can't say as the type of stuff excites me, but it's easy listening.

I loved their first album and some of Marc's solo stuff..
It reminds of my early hellish teen years...

You must've had a good time though, with all those fab sounds around you, and people feeling free to express themselves how they wanted.

Not everyone has the opportunity to witness amazing musical changes. People had it in Chuck Berry and Elvis's day, people had it when the Beatles came along, you had it with punk and the new romantic stuff.

Today, labels're merging into each other. People're just people, and I don't think today's teenagers've really had that raw kind of excitement. Also, you can't let your kids do even what I did. Things're more unpredictable now and dangerous.

Ah, but what's the betting that when they produce something good again, they'll come out with a sudden blast!

Well you don't see much of it, do you?

I certainly don't. I've been watching bits of Hunted though. Think the last one's on this week. It grips you, as all the people on the run keep being caught.

Blimey T - haven't you seen an episode? The winner stands to get £100,000. There's this black guy from London. I was hoping he'd manage to escape, but they got him last week. Two young girls're still on the run, along with a guy who';s been cycling everywhere. They're not REAL fugitives!! They applied to be on the programme, and had to hide from everyone for a month. It's brilliant fun.
