I pulled a face when she said that she wants to go out drinking and partying - with younger people. I think this's the basis of her troubles. She can't accept that she's growing older. What is she now - about 45/46?
We know that couples split up, but first she goes off with Norman's best friend, and now she's wandering again.

Well if you have a tipple too many, you can flop out on the sofa or go bed. No waiting for a taxi or stumbling home in the dark. If you have friends round, you can end the party when you like. If you feel hungry you can go and grab something. Perfect.
