I haven't had a go at the 9 x Dead song, but it wouldn't take me too long to pick the bass up.

Your Shortnin' Bread's actually harder than it sounds, and particularly when played on a banjo.

Don't worry about it. Our tastes change as we get older, and what might've seemed boring years ago, suddenly takes on a new meaning as we come to appreciate things more.
