Re: Caroline Aherne
no we get new ones in and upgrade the old..
Re: Caroline Aherne
It's not being wasteful as I use them..
Re: Caroline Aherne
I'm not moaning at you T. I'm criticising the system though, which no doubt doesn't just stop at your place of work, but similar offices as well.
If older computers're being upgraded, I don't see the point in buying more new ones. There IS no point, unless more staff're expected to come in and work on them. It's just a waste of money to buy something that can be done on the existing, upgraded computers. Good job I don't work there. I'd have to say something.

Re: Caroline Aherne
It's funny that,
it was only recently our whole way of life has changed...we are now fully in the computer age which is fine but I do miss people not writng letters as much and reality telly is now a reality....
costa coffee cardboard cups when a cup and saucer is much more refined and comforting...
people talking into machines instead of to eachother...
Peole ranting on computers...............OOPS!

Re: Caroline Aherne
LOL. Some things are a bonus because they make our busy lives easier, but computers sometimes go down, as happened in my local bank branch again recently, and when that happens, it causes havoc. The staff haven't been trained to do things manually, as they had to years ago. Two cashiers couldn't add up in front of me!! I thought that was disgusting.
People seem to be glued to their phones - even young kids! They make pretend friends, and "like" or "follow" people they'll never know in person. This is why I think it's important for people to interact with others. The isolation's causing more suicides than ever in Japan. It's abnormal .

Re: Caroline Aherne
These gadgets're taking away the art of proper conversation. The fake friendships're dispensable and meaningless. It's a quick fix for boredom and loneliness, and the more people depend on them as opposed to going out and making new or seeing old friends, the worse it's going to get.
Re: Caroline Aherne
we'll see,
you are probably right though..
which ain't brillliant..

Re: Caroline Aherne
Well gadgets and machines won't be MY substitute for real people. The two can be used together, but not in place of.
