Me too. I first read about her in an online news article, and there's a medical name for this sort of thing.
Some people feel the need to have amputations, horrible disfigurements or, as this woman's done, be blinded. It's obviously a mental problem they have, but just a worse step up from body dysmorphia, where folk think they're ugly in some way but no one else sees it.
What she did must've been agonising, and it could've resulted in something even worse. The person who obliged her needs locking up, as well.
