True, but it still means doom for the people who were on it.

Lots of reasons for it I think. Greed, lack of tolerance and understanding, being too materialistic, feeling swamped by rules and regulations, and basically, there are too many of us.

and maybe Satan has spread his wings..?

If you believe in all that, then yes. I see it as a more practical problem though Tomsk. We seem to get idiots in power, who seem totally detached from the real world. Then you have folk who have nothing - no education, no prospects, no money at all..... it breeds corruption and despair. In that situation, people turn to whatever gives them a sense of belonging, and that often means turning to religion, even ones with twisted ethics. Horrible.

we all have the scope for both and the freewill to choose .....

I used to think the same way. Not any more. You're right to say that we choose the path we wish to take, but for some, there's no alternative.

It's a complex thing yet so simple too...

Anyway, the simple answer to what happened to that plane means that the chances of survival're nil.
