I think most people'd find the idea either amusing or gross. After all, it's really no more than a talking blow-up doll.

The harsh reality is that people's attitudes about sex are changing. I don't know about the baby boomers or gen-XYZ, but the millennials are breaking new ground when it comes to thinking about sexual activity. There is an obvious biological need to have intercourse, but in today's world having babies is only a small part of the total experience. Given that sexual contact can be purely for the pleasure of the experience, it's not hard to imagine how a surrogate sex partner would serve the same purpose. Yes, it may require an unique mind set, but given all the other alternatives that are available and practiced these days, robotic sex seems like a natural progression. It sure beats watching porn movies.

I think I'd still prefer not to have sex with a robot. Then again, I've heard people liken their partners to them!
