I ran across some information about human trafficking. It's among the most heinous crimes I can think of, but also one that gets little attention. The article lists dozens of facts, with source references, and is well worth the read just as a reminder of what seems to be a forgotten crime. The most impressive take away from the list is how vulnerable immigrants are to being victims. You know ... those people who are being banned from entry into our country and forcing other countries to abandon long standing unions. I was moved by what I read.

due to the circles i wonder in, i've been quite aware of this hideous trend for a long time now. the sad part is, we cannot figure out what to do about it as more and more scandals are popping up about high gov officials right in the middle of them. so, basically, the higher you go, the more chance you have of finding guilty parties instead of saviours.

i would love to be able to "buy" a few girls, but whopdedoo, that'll only leave a few million to go.... it's like plucking a few drops out of the niagara.

I guess I've been aware of it for a long time myself. It's a segment of the underworld that is the most vile, yet gets the least amount of attention. Apparently people who can do something about it, are complicit. How very sad is that.
