dalai lama

Post by pilvikki »

which I always want to add another L to...

I had no idea of the size of Tibet and could not for my life figure out why china is so rabid about hanging onto her; all i'd ever seen on NG was mountains and goats and temples. now, this will shed light on the situation and the lama, who's nothing like other 'holy' men.

what i'd like to know is why the UN, again, is silent on this issue? bh, that organisation does not appear to have any teeth...

Good question,
I wish I could answer it,
I just wish people could get on....

I'm with you on the spelling, but the two el's would suggest the animal, not the human. China has some strong ideas about what is theirs. Tibet is one issue as is Taiwan. I'm not as concerned about Tibet as I am about Taiwan. A madman is challenging China there and the end results can't be good.

well, friends of mine are good friends with the lama and they're quite concerned about it. the Chinese officials are not the warm, fuzzy sort, unlike his holiness.

his holiness? no way in hell could I manage to call someone that; any more than curtsey to some kid, come to think of it....

her's a page I found on the subject:

https://freetibet.org/about/china-argument

the one thing baffling me about the article is the referral to a Chinese language - when i'm always reminded of there not being any such thing.
