25th Amendment, Section 4

Post by yogi »

This amendment to the constitution merely assures that the Vice-President can take over the President's job should he become incapacitated for some reason. Usually that involves sickness, death, or treasonable scandals. However, in addition to setting the guidelines for a smooth transition, section 4 also gives the Vice President authority to take over as acting president if he can get a majority of the Cabinet members to agree. I don't know if that has ever happened before, but apparently it's a possibility. Newsweek is suggesting it will be President Pence six months from now.

i'm a bit pensive about this... he might be sane, but pretty old school just the same. old school as in 1930.

I thought having more parties would result in more options = better results, but.... well, finland has some 7-8 of them and they ended up with a total loser in charge, from what I gather. bummer.
