I lived through the Cuban Missal Crisis, but it was not until recently that I found out why I'm still here to talk about it. We all owe our lives to one Vasili Arkhipov, a Russian officer on a nuclear armed submarine that was patrolling the waters around Cuba. I don't hold much hope for getting a second chance at doing this again.
