Galaxy Note 7

Post by Icey »

Has anyone else got one of these phones, which seem to be catching fire and exploding with regularity?

My son got one recently and says he's happy to use it, but we keep getting warnings on the news and it bothers me. The testing's obviously not been efficient enough before the phones leave the factory, which's disgusting when the things cost hundreds of pounds.

It's been recalled and Samsung has permanently halted production and sales. There is a risk if your son continues to use it. He may be lucky and nothing bad will happen. But why take the chance? It can be exchanged for a similar model.

Yes, thank you Yogi. Unfortunately, my son's phone, which's on contract, was updated by Carphone Warehouse, and they're dragging their heels, saying that they can't give refunds or similar phones until Samsung contact them ... which they're saying they haven't done, as yet.

The phone came, and wasn't working properly, so it was returned to where it came from, so now my son can't use the phone but he still has to pay the contractual fee! I think he should contact some consumer advice place, but he thinks it's too soon and that he needs to wait to see what the company tell their customers.

If your son is under contract, and the company is not providing the service, then the contract is null and void.

Thank you, Yogi. I'll let you know what happens. I'm only hearing bits and bobs as my son says things.
