interesting as it is, i'm baffled by the significance of water on Europa, or anywhere else up there? it's not like one could grow carrots there...

It has a lot of promise if there IS water, though. The ingredients're there for microbial life, and there's already talk of devising some method of bringing water samples back to earth to study it. There's a satellite which'll soon be ready to go up there again, but it won't be on a life-finding mission, so next they'll be concentrating on that.
