Flight MH370

Post by yogi » 13 Dec 2017, 14:59

I knew some changes have been put in place since the 9/11 tragedy, but I did not realize one of the changes was the addition of remote control devices to all commercial aircraft. These devices give the ability to fly the plane remotely. This is a very good idea should a hijacking be attempted, but each good idea has a downside too. What if some powers-that-be hacks into the uninterruptible autopilot system? Norman Davies, a historian and author, wrote a book about it as it might apply to Flight MH370 that 'disappeared' on it's way from Kuala Lumpur to China back in 2014. He assures us his thoughts are all speculation, but then again ...

The speculation about what happened to flight MH370 goes on. All the searching has ceased and nobody has come up with an official explanation. However, the Australian version of the news show 60 Minutes assembled a "team of experts" to analyze the flight and what little is known of it. They concluded that the pilot is the culprit and was on a suicide mission that took all 239 passengers with him. The pilot, Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah, committed an act of premeditated murder. He turned off the plane's tracking transponders and then depressurized the cabin. Everyone went unconscious except the pilot who was wearing an oxygen mask. Apparently he flew past his home town and dipped a wing for one last farewell look, then headed out to nowhere. They still haven't found the wreckage which may or may not provide any more enlightenment anyway. I'm not certain why, but this story fascinates me.
