Christmas Messages

Post by yogi » 17 Dec 2017, 11:16

It's that time of year when we begin to reflect on how quickly it is all moving. It's also that time when I send our annual 'Seasons Greetings' message to our members - hopefully you received it by now. This thread is provided for any stray souls in our ranks to post their Christmas Message, let us know what they have been doing lately, or to just say 'hi'

I sent out a general e-mail and was hoping one of those stray souls might say a few words.

Remind me. Why is Christmas supposed to be 'merry'?

Oh, well. Happy Panqutzaliztli to all of you...

Down here at the old Anahuac there was also a winter solstice festivity before the arrival of the Europeans and it was adapted by friars in order to evangelize the population.

Back when I was being taught religion, pagans were considered evil. I can see how Christianity evolved from paganism and had no idea the old rituals were still popular in certain parts of the world. Thank you for bringing my attention to Panqutzaliztli.
