rah-rah rasputin

Post by pilvikki »

i just watched a BBC program on his death and it turns out, it did not happen as advertised.

somebody lied.

really? how could that be?

it turns out it was political and MI6 was in on it, most likely giving grigory the decisive tap to his forehead. perhaps a rogue operation, but then again, maybe not. rasputin was getting very influential with the queen, who was in charge while Nik was off fighting the war. and rasputin was doing his best to have her stop the war, which did not sit well with the brits, for that would have meant that all them germans would be heading west, likely just keep going all the way to the sea... so, he really had to go.

well, i did see that coming.

I had to look it up because I didn't realize MI6 was even invented during the era of Rasputin. It was in fact founded in 1909, five years prior to ol' Grigori's departed to a greater existence. My understanding is that they served Great Britain by providing intelligence. I don't know how involved they would be in Russian politics. Besides, the Germans independently decided to visit the Cliffs of Dover a few decades later. It's complicated.

which often goes hand in hand. so many arguments i had with my devote communist g/f (lenin poster on the bedroom ! wall) as i was saying that IF these clowns really were for the good for everybody, why did they live in luxury, while the peasants starved?

Do you know of a "powerful" world leader who was poor? It just doesn't go down that way. Money is power. The big issue is what does that powerful person do with all his/her influence? In communist and socialist societies it's used to keep the peasants reasonably quiet while the leaders exploit the system. Some people don't mind being submissive. I suspect your Lenin fan of a g/f is one of them.

That must be one hell of a forensnic team that can identify the murderer(s) by examining the hole in Rasputin's forehead. Personally, I think it was aliens.
