indeed and that's why i'm taking today off from it...
Re: erm...
I don't go there more than I have to. It seems there are drastic changes each time I try to find something. Too many choices.
Re: erm...
there are a few people i hang out with and also a page with 'dislocated' finns i like to help out. as in, 'no, no, that does not mean what you think it does' kind of stuff. a lot of the Midwest finns are third + generation and things tend to get strange, lol!
Re: erm...
I guess the attraction is to like minded people. In general, however, it's become quite a political venue. The founding father, Mark Zuckerberg, recently gave some serious consideration to running for president of the US, but with some of the latest discoveries about Facebook advertising he may be going to jail instead. There are enough people who stay out of the politics to still keep Facebook interesting, but the idea of supporting somebody's agenda with my presence just doesn't sit right.
Re: erm...
so what did he do?
my contacts are mostly the kitten/funny jokes crowd. lots of political stuff, but since we all pretty much agree, few feathers get ruffled and trolls get tossed off the bridge.

Re: erm...
That happens a lot over there. Even so there is something about the management that turns me off.
Re: erm...
the "management" appears to be underpaid kids.
Re: erm...
Truth is FB was started by kids, for kids. Then their parents discovered what the kids were doing and it was all down hill from there. As happens in many areas when you monetize an operation, politics and corruption crept into the management. In Zuk's case I think it was simply indifference as long as the dollars (rubles) kept rolling in. It's just that once you get involved with the Mafia, there is no leaving the game.
Re: erm...
sad how many great ideas get totally corrupted...
