.tk is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand located in the South Pacific.

It turns out Tokelau has an entry in Wikipedia. It apparently was invented to make it easy for spammers to conceal their identity. It just goes to show that hacking and spam isn't just an individual gone wild with his/her computer. It's an industry. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.tk
