I had an amazingly artistic friend who is no longer with us.
He did not draw what this guy did, but what he did draw you could never tell from a photograph, if that was his goal.
As a makeup artist, he could make almost anybody look like somebody else, but usually only from one or two angles, as it is all done using shadows and highlights. Like using your face as photo paper and imposing another image over your face.
I used to love to watch him work on something new, unusual, or totally unique.
Things which can now be done using a computer in a matter of minutes.
