The artwork looks primitive to my uneducated eyes, and I have to wonder what those Romans were thinking when they chose a duck to be immortalized in mosaic. It makes me wonder how many of the buildings I see around here will be in such good shape 2000 years from now.

well, the art is primitive, but not when you compare to the middle ages and later, yes? the media not being very forgiving...
