There are a lot of ways to do us in. Some haven't been discovered yet. I have little hope that this planet will have humans on it 1000 years from now, but it is possible that evolution will provide a way for us to survive. Regardless of the life form, I am very curious to know what will be here ten centuries out. It's not looking good for life as we know it at the moment.

Spirits have no need for food, shelter, or clothing because they have no body and the accompanying brain. It's hard to image how, or if, a spirit can be aware of things given it has none of our human sensory capability.
