Truck Drag Race

too much posturing and smoke for me. and they didn't go very far....

A typical drag race is 1/4th mile long, about 1300 feet. You're right about the posturing, but as I watched the video I was wondering why those trucks didn't simply blow up. There is a whole lot of flaming going on.

the first huge ball of flame had me thinking it had caught on fire! you'd think it also gets a bit warm in the cab.

I'm sure the drivers wear fireproof jump suits. The track master (the guy with the flags for starting the race), however, is in the most precarious position of all between the two trucks supervising the staging before the race starts. I still think it would be thrilling to run that race.
