fanny mendelssohn

Felix's wife apparently wrote a whole lot of music attributed to him:

you don't like? i'm not a huge piano fan, unless live, but that was such a cheerful sort of piece.

I was exposed to a lot more Beethoven than I was Mendelssohn when my #2 daughter was studying piano. The piece in the video is too classical for my taste, but it certainly is well done. My comment about her doing well on X-Factor was intended to be a compliment. It just goes to show you that behind every great man is a woman.

ah, okay, I didn't get the X-factor reference as I rarely watch any. and... don't really like its format.

because I like classical music, my music teacher decided to give me piano lessons. what a waste of her time that was! i'm tone deaf and have a low-sitting pinky finger that only reaches to just above the middle of my ring finger.

we have neighbours with twin girls. squeaki is pretty much exactly average in height, the shorter of these two, fanny, is about 3" inches taller. her sister, lola has 2" on me and I think I've shrunk to about 5' 4.

yep, they named the girls fanny and lola.
