I've seen recipes calling for it, but I personally have never used it. I'm not ever sure we can get it around here.

Apparently, if you look hard enough in the right places various kinds of seaweed are available in certain shops. I've eaten it in sushi but never made anything of my own using it.

apparently it's a big seller in Ireland..
I will give Samphire a try and make a full report...
