Fog dome

Yesterday morning, a woman in north Wales captured an unusual phenomenon - a fog dome. Weather experts say that although rare, they can form when a piece of ground's warmer than the rest of its surroundings, for example over a warm pool of water or on recently worked agricultural ground.

That's an amazing phenomena. I understand the principle involved but don't see why it would end up in a dome shape. I'd expect it to be amorphous, then again, what do I know about meteorology?

Imhotep might've seen one of these fog domes, with him living in Wales.

I've never seen one, and don't quite understand how they form like that, but .... they obviously do!
