It WAS meant to be amusing though. It's just a thread of British humour which touches on truth, but not meant to be offensive. It smacks slightly of sarcasm, and all sorts of Brits end up on the receiving end of it. Under the circumstances, maybe it wasn't one of Nigel's best quips though.
