The Dark Web

Post by yogi »

If you didn't know it, you must have at least suspected that the Internet is used by all types of nefarious characters that range from child pornography dealers, to stolen credit card numbers, to world class terrorist organizations. It's not so easy to access a lot of the information on the dark side, but it is not as difficult as you might think. The Internet is a public network after all and EVERYTHING out there is vulnerable to being discovered. The linked article gives you some idea of who uses the Dark Web and what some of their risks might be. But it goes beyond just theory. The article also lists access points that anybody with a browser can get to. I'm not advocating using any of it. However, it's quite an eye opener to see exactly what is hidden from most of us. It's totally unbelievable.

It's a shame that the "dark web's" been abused. TOR was originally designed to protect American intelligence I understand, but it's become a haven for all sorts of crime.
I don't blame folk for using anonymous networks IF they're to be used for genuine purposes, but unfortunately, they've attracted the worst sort of human beings, although to be fair, not everyone's like it.
