that's exactly the part that trips me up: having experienced and/or witnessed abuse, why take it on?

Re: Feeble question from Icey ...

it'd be best to use a memory stick, but putting anything back on the machine's going to cause me a headache.
just a comment about that: you don't have to take anything out, you just copy it. so it's still on your computer exactly where it was.

the handbag protest

politicians in a Swedish town of växsjö had decided against a statue depicting a lady hitting a neo-Nazi on the head, from this photograph of the occasion 30 years ago: http://gfx2.aftonbladet-cdn.se/image/20337567/485/normal/4c9a603bc9191/damnazist.jpg you see, it maybe misunderstood as a nod to f...

Re: self-mummification

still, 3000 days of killing yourself seems quite excessive?

or is it perhaps a test on your endurance? either way, it's a hell of a way to go.

self-mummification

I just find this so totally absurd. and a waste. pardon the pun...

oh but then again; you get worshipped after you're dead. if you've done it right.

being buddism is such a low key, humble religion, do you think this kind of self-deification has a place in it?

is he dead yet?

Re: Pain In The Brain

Re: Pain In The Brain

you know, thinking about this I remembered an instance a few months ago. i'd get a nasty, nagging pain in the back my thigh, probably from driving. it was one of those that would go away with medium strength pain killers, but I was fed up with taking them. so one day I got totally off side and thou...

Re: Geoengineering the Weather

anything to do with CIA smells like trouble to me....

fiddling with weather patterns... hmm... it seems modification would not hurt per se; nobody needs monsoon rains, prolonged deepfreezes or 6' of snow at once.

but. there's always that but... nothing comes free.

Re: Pain In The Brain

well, as i've read that painkillers actually block the pain reception in the pain, it's kinda like old news. but on the other hand (or foot), in a way it's irrelevant as the cause of the pain is in its primary location; when you nail your thumb with the hammer, it's not your head that hurts. howeve...

well, i have nothing to add to that. what kind of person enjoys seeing another being die for no reason? they all have exactly as many lives as we do.
