Re: Joke of the Day

Pringles have dried potatoes in them, as the number 1 ingredient. Yellow corn flour, and rice flour are the next main ingredients with some salt and wheat starch at the end of the list. I try to avoid as many fried styles of potatoes as I can. But sometimes it takes a fried potato of some type to ki...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

As far as the pizza business went, getting and keeping customers required they understand how much pizza they get gyped out of at other places. Not covering that outer circumference of the pizza saves almost 1/3 of the ingredients, but gyps the customer out of it too. We proudly showed our product r...

Re: 46,000 year old worm

Here is what my regular doctor prescribed until I see the endoscopy doctor.
Omeprazole 40MG
I don't know the trade names it is sold under.
I'm hoping they don't find anything serious too.

Re: 46,000 year old worm

Our trolleys travel the entire shopping district near the college. Both hi and low end stores are there. The trolleys are funded by the stores, and since there are so many stores, one small tax for the entire district covers it really well. Now out west where the big hi end malls are, they have some...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

In many businesses, they don't always quite get the 100% markup if it pushes the price over what the market will bear for that item. That's why it is good to provide some service you don't get from the bigger stores. I don't see that these sock really help all that much with the swelling, a little b...

Re: Joke of the Day

I believe there are extended cultivars of the Burbank variety, but what they are called I have no idea. I like Pringles myself and have discovered a way to make them, not exactly the way they do of course. But I can get them as thin as theirs with a little effort. I couldn't do if Debi didn't have t...

Re: Joke of the Day

The variety is BURBANK, at least that is the most popular among restaurants. Idaho Russet Burbank Grade #1 is what is bought by many restaurants. Also Idaho Russet Norkota Grade #1, only grown in Idaho, and considered the top hi-end restaurant grade. This is the one that often only comes in 100 poun...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

I thought almost everything considered medical had a 1000% markup, just like jewelry, and a few other things? I've not had any problem putting my compression sock on, it's getting them off at night after my feet are more swollen. Taking them off by just pulling them inside out, instead of trying to ...

Re: 46,000 year old worm

Lots of fully restored antique cars around here too, some from the 1910 to 1930 era. They parade between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge every other weekend it seems. We have an insurance salesman who drives what looks like a model A Ford, but is really just a replicar built on top of the frame and engi...

Re: 46,000 year old worm

They have a ton of car and truck shows down here. You should see some of the modifications made to some of these vehicles. One fellow has a REAL cast iron bathtub as the body for one of his cars. Another has a grocery store shopping cart about 5 times life size, this one you may have seen since he t...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

I'll bet it doesn't cost as much to make those things as they want you to think. But then they have to pay the technicians and sales folks who handle the tests and fittings for them out of what they charge for the also. My uncle Leonard wore hearing aids that were not cheap. He managed to drop one a...

Re: Joke of the Day

I normally don't like sandwiches of any kind with a lot of stuff on them. I also HATE Subway sandwiches because they leave the packing house rind on all their meats. We bought Idaho B-Russets for our restaurant, but only for Bakers. There were not as HUGE as A-Russets. Later on we bought the same po...

There is a thousand more things than you know about that goes into running a business, plus tons of legal requirements and reports, etc. I have the name of the brand of roast beef my local Vic's Deli used to sell. It was the perfect beef, but it only comes in large restaurant size units, and it is m...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

I have tried to get Medicaid a couple of times. I don't have a disability type that will get me on their plans here. Such as blind or totally disabled, like as if I'm not, hi hi. Just having to use a wheelchair to move around doesn't count as a disability. Wow, I hope they work as well as you expect...

Re: 46,000 year old worm

Down here we don't have many sewers, they use ditches along the roadways, and in the low areas where these all cross under the roads, they often overflow and go across the roads, sometimes for a goodly distance. My neighbor had a tree fall and most of it landed on his pick-up truck, some on the roof...

Wow, sounds like you had about like we had. Only down here there was a lot of flooding involved too, the kind of flooding that makes side streets impassible, hi hi Insurance will not normally cover the taking down of a tree, but will often cover removing a part of it that is on someone elses propert...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

My supplemental insurance for Plan N, went from 255 to 273 in February and I think it stays that the rest of the year. I pay 20 bucks to doctors, 50 or 60 bucks to ER room with no being admitted, else that is covered. Down here they have Tenncare which you don't want if can avoid it. But I thought M...

Re: Joke of the Day

We had a tavern near the florist, on the same side of the road, who sold the very best plate lunches, price was right too. After a few fast food places moved to town, they cut down what choices you had, until it was either roast beef and smashed potatoes or a chicken breast with cooked down green be...

Re: Joke of the Day

Down here, the places who sell the scratch n sniffs, take them out of a large plastic display unit and hand them to you. It's the only things they sell where you must pay first, then get the cards, hi hi. Same with the machine version where you tell them your numbers. Pay first! The one restaurant w...

Re: It's 104℉ Right Now

From what I understand. Plan N and Plan F1 cover the same things except F1 covers Medicare Deductible and excess charges. I forget now how much the annual deductible is, but it is somewhere between 400 and 600 bucks now. And my doctors told me they can never collect on the excess charges anyhow, unl...
