Re: Short time tracking with a push.

I've met a few people who freeze up when they have to use a computer. And that is for even the most simple of tasks like going to a web site in a browser. Then, if they have to download or print something, it's a total disaster. LOL There is no explanation for why they freeze other than some kind of...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

The difference in our viewpoints is rooted in cognitive dissonance. It simply means no amount of contrary evidence can change the perspective.

Re: The Rest Of The Story

Chicago had a dynasty of mayors from the Daley family. Maybe that's why I was attracted to O'Fallon subconsciously. The Daley family was as Irish as you could be and not live in Ireland. Richard J was known for many years as "the Boss" which could have easily also been "the Don" ...

Re: The Rest Of The Story

I am very glad to not have had the opportunity to test out the speed limit laws in a Missouri traffic court. LOL The law is, well, the LAW. I suppose there can be variations and interpretations but when it comes time to explain to the judge why you were breaking the law there is no gray area. Police...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

I find it infinitely interesting that you could find so many faults with Barak Obama, yet you place your full trust and confidence in a pathological liar, a person with a narcissistic personality disorder, and a man who is a sociopath. To each their own, I suppose.

Re: Short time tracking with a push.

When I had a job the need for staff meetings was based on a program the boss used. It was one of many such software programs that could manage projects. The staff in my office was around a dozen, but this project manager could handle any number of people and the projects they worked on. I don't know...

Re: Short time tracking with a push.

It helps to attach some real world events to the requirements of this yet to be created program. At least now I know we are talking about human events and not computer processes. Unfortunately, I'm still a bit in the dark about what your exact requirements are. I get the idea of how a program could ...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

We have not put a lot of thought into departing from this world. We have yet to make a will in fact. However, that's almost superfluous given there is nobody to contest the estate but our two daughters. They can fight it out if they like. I'm not too concerned about what happens after I'm gone. It's...

Re: The Rest Of The Story

In theory there are traffic engineers who have the job of figuring out what the right speed is for a given road. A lot of factors must be considered, not the least of which is the number of accident reports along a given road. I doubt that applies to those 20 mph speed zones of which you speak, but ...

Re: The Rest Of The Story

It is my understanding that those work zone speed limits only apply when workmen are present and work is in progress. At least that is the understanding I brought with me from Illinois. It's the same as school speed limits. They only apply when children are present. But, then, who am I to argue with...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

I don't like to think about moving from this place. It will be the last move I ever make, to be sure. The next logical stage seems to be some kind of assisted living, or senior center. It might be convenient and even necessary, but I can tell you right now I would not be comfortable in such a place....

Re: Short time tracking with a push.

Wow. Just WOW. LOL  I'm intrigued by your question because I know it can easily be done, but I don't know exactly what your requirements are. I read through it a few times and it's something just about any program that can manipulate variables would be able to do. From what I can surmise yo...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

The only copper I have here is coming in from the foundation for a few feet. It all turns into plastic from there on. Same with the electric. No conduit in sight. It's all some kind of heavy duty extension cord as far as I can tell. For some reason the breaker box is STILL metal. The toilet has flex...

Re: The Rest Of The Story

It all boils down to money, income for the citation issuer. I think it could be run from one state law enforcement entity and they can split the profits any which way they like. A single policing authority would simplify things and very likely reduce the taxes for that service as well. But, as is al...

Re: The Rest Of The Story

Thanks for the details about townships. It's all very interesting and new material to me, although I have heard and read references to it a few times over the years. The township I lived in included a library that was very popular statewide. It was way better than the library of my home village but ...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

You certainly have a lot of experience with inspectors of all sorts. You also did a lot of things that needed inspection. The primary goal is safety and habitability, but some of those Gestapo types only know the rules out of the book and nothing else. I can see how exceeding the code would confuse ...

Re: Outdated Medical Software

I was being flippant about the lack of wood windows in O'Fallon. They are rare, or at least I didn't see any when we were looking for houses to live in. There ware a couple in Lake St Louis, but those houses were about as old as my youngest daughter. There also is a Pella dealer in the area, not in ...

Re: The Rest Of The Story

The area I lived in near Chicago was typically in the top three most expensive places to live in America. Silicon Valley generally came in first place but we beat them out a time or two. I don't know about those other places, but the Chicago metropolitan area has around 13 million residents. It's ve...

Re: Ubuntu 20.04 Release

As the stereotype goes, Tennessee is the home of the "good ol' boys." As such, you don't want to mess with them. Chicago had it's Mafia, but that is what they were advertised to be. You knew who they were and you knew who to avoid. Down south there never was such a thing, but y'all took ca...
