Re: The Muslim Problem
One more comment on this subject before I get offline for the morning: this so-called "study" by Sennels doesn't impress me. It's been out there for quite some time (2010, if I'm correct), and is NOT given all that much credence by the thinking people of this world. If y'all want links sho...

Re: The Muslim Problem
I agree, Icey! Pot smokers, for the most part, aren't at all interested in committing OR in promoting violent and horrific acts. They're far more interested in chilling out, giving warm hugs to their friends, and munching on snacks. At least, that's the way that I was, back in the day when I was cap...

Re: the endoscopy
Isn't the medication they give you just lovely?? With most endoscopies, not only do you get something to relax you, along with a bit of a painkiller, but you *also* usually get Versed...a completely awesome benzodiazepine medication which'll make you "forget" any discomfort you endured -- ...

Bratty little bitches!!
Well! I'm a couple of weeks into the new job and not certain, at all, that I like it! I'm now a clinical instructor for Nursing Fundamentals and am dealing with first-year nursing students (while still doing PRN at my "former" place of employment). On one hand, it's a GREAT time to get hol...

Re: TRUMP!
LOVE the Trump toilet paper, Dennis! And if I felt like spending the extra $$ (when the toilet paper I use is far cheaper), I might even buy some. But honestly, that Trump bastard isn't *worthy* of wiping my ass (although it might be fun to use his awful toupee while doing so), so I'll be happy enou...

Re: Is it wrong?
Looks as though I came to this conversation rather late in the day. But hey, we've seen how "gun control" has worked for Chicago, New Orleans and NYC, cities which have some of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation. ALL that these "restrictions" will manage to do, as we hav...

My kids are SO awesome!!!
As my BF friends know, I'm working throughout the holiday weekend. But my daughters are BOTH in town for this particular holiday, and having to work while they're here can be somewhat depressing, as much as I miss them and want so much to be able to spend a whole lot more time with them than I'll be...

Re: I don't agree with this!
I have to agree with Dennis on this one. Blood transfusions, in this day and age, aren't what they were back in the 1980's when poor Ryan White from Kokomo got AIDS due to a "bad" blood transfusion. Blood donations here are now screened, re-screened, and screened yet again, etc. The chance...

Re: Oh, those "Debbie Downers!"
And Icey, it's not just the nastiness re: my gift to her, but her continued bitchiness when I'm not feeling well enough to function as her "chauffeur," her "housemaid," her "laundry woman" or whatever OTHER project she might have on board for me whenever I might come to...

And pilvikki, I'll do my best to convince her to get checked re: the hormone levels, although she's much younger than me and probably not yet perimenopausal...that is, as soon as I'm speaking to her again. Who knows? By the time I AM speaking to her again, she just might be!!

Re: Oh, those "Debbie Downers!"
I know what you're saying, Icey, and I can appreciate your thoughts on the issue. Honestly, though, it seems as though this woman just CAN'T be happy unless she's making everyone around her just as miserable as she is. I've tried, often, to cheer her up, take her out for lunch, and to take her out f...

Oh, those "Debbie Downers!"
Counting to ten, or, perhaps, to a thousand. Honestly, it seems as though I seriously have to step back and count each and every single time I deal with a certain friend of mine. I've known her for years and have come to love her as a cherished friend. She has many good qualities, indeed. She's kind...

Re: Hottest November Ever
I agree, Icey, hot temps are not happy things for me, either. I LOVE sleeping in a cold (65 F or less) bedroom with LOTS of blankets piled on top of me, and even in the summer, I keep my thermostat set for 68 F or less...I'd rather pile more clothes ON, because there are only so many that I can take...

Re: Hottest November Ever
It appears that the "balmy" November weather is finally letting up here, sadly. We had temps in the low 30s this morning, I had to defrost my car windows upon leaving work, and we've actually seen a few snowflakes since I got home. Hello, December! Too bad, really! I was hoping that I'd no...
Re: the elf
Halloween candy is perfect, no matter what time of year! I'm still snatching those "mini" candy bars from our case manager's office on the nights that she works late ;-) BTW, your "elf" is a real cutie-pie!

Thank you, Jesus, THIS workweek has ended!
Again, it's been a total effing week from Hell...made even worse by my arthritis (which the cold and damp is NOT helping!) and by a lupus flare brought on by all of the goddamn stress at work. Just finished my third 12-hour shift in three days, and the way I've been feeling lately, I'll need a day o...

Re: Woman's Sufferage
Doesn't surprise me, not at all. The Catholic church is perhaps the ONLY major world religion (apart from the Muslims) which doesn't allow women into the priesthood (pastorship, rabbinate, etc.). No big surprise that they don't think we're "smart" enough to vote...not that the votes of the...
