Re: I'm Just Going to Leave This Here

I didn't take much attention to that. I just marvel when the bushes in the neighborhood sidewalks begin to get full and the bracts naturally turn red since late october, and then the true flower blossoms in December... By now some of the bushes have lost the red bracts and the blossoms are dithering...

Re: I'm Just Going to Leave This Here

Joel Roberts Poinsett was the first U.S. Ambassador to Mexico. He also set, under the Monroe Doctrine, the first purchase intention for the then Northern States, preceding 22 years the U.S. - Mexico war. What may have appeared first in Google was that internationally, the Mexican native Cuetlalxochi...

Well, At least 45th has achieved something. We have been downtalked about since Poinsett, and the world took that lead. It hasn't been since the start of his campaign.

Re: Christmas Messages

Oh, well. Happy Panqutzaliztli to all of you...

Down here at the old Anahuac there was also a winter solstice festivity before the arrival of the Europeans and it was adapted by friars in order to evangelize the population.

Re: Celebremos

We've spoken about "La Bamba" in another thread, every time I hear any version of it I remember myself taking a milk coffee sitting just outside of "La Parroquia" coffee shop in Veracruz Promenade looking at the Port while workers load new cars into Cargo Ships in the port over there... (Sorry, no p...

Re: Celebremos

I didn't know that "Celebration" version... Not that it is wrong, just a bit weird, with those lyrics and the english speaking accent... About "Volare", I remember most the original version by Domenico Modugno, but the Dean Martin version is also very good... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6DTo5aVL...

Re: what did i miss?

Down here "Gravity" movie was a real event... Because it is a Hollywood film directed by Alfonso Cuarón and photographed by "El Chivo" Emmanuel Lubezky, both Mexican born... There were endless "backstage" shows about it, about the Aningaaq scene, about the way "El Chivo" designed the display box to ...

He was a salesman by trade before entering politics. He got to be CEO of Coca Cola for Mexico and Latin America. As a Federal Deputy and later Guanajuato Governor he developed an open government style that made him a contender to Mexico Persidency in 2000. His marketology knack and blunt style marke...

Just the one I remember every time I pass through those points. At the beginning of the film he enters the Infonavit building, also goes around the Army University... I do prefer True Lies.
