Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

The Silver Yogi has a WiFi card installed and working, it has two antennae that stick out the back and are turned upward. This is how you sent it to me. The WiFi signals I do pick up are from my garage office, no metal up here. And we did try a repeater up in my attic, just behind the louvered vent ...

Re: Wired's Picture of the Week

You got that right Yogi! And sometimes it is not the engineers who design things, the advertising department comes up with something they design, then give that design to the engineers to make construction plans. Then when it didn't work, they called me to make their bass ackwards designs work. At l...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

I only have one Router now, it has 8 ports plus WiFi. Prior to buying it, I had two Routers, an 8 port, and a separate one for WiFi which plugged into the 8 port router. The WiFi was only used for Debi's things in the house, like her Kindle, and Netbook, plus my Laptop I rarely if ever used. But mai...

Although I'm at my computer all day and part of the night, almost none of those apply to me.
Only 1, 2, and 4.

Re: Wired's Picture of the Week

Something similar happened in the designs for the connecting highways to cross the Poplar Street Bridge. In another set of specs for the drawings they had two highways criss-crossing each other at the same elevation. They never really fixed this problem, just added a curve in each and had them come ...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

I've seen comments about Bluetooth connectivity and a few other things I have no idea what that means they do. It's almost impossible to find a stand-alone flat bed scanner that works good on Linux, which is why I opted for the all-in-one printer that saves scans to the USB stick. If I had a Windows...

Re: Wired's Picture of the Week

When I worked in Highways and Planning at Sverdrup & Parcel, you wouldn't believe the number of serious mistakes made by the engineers that us lowly draftsman caught. One of them was so bad, it reminded us of the cartoon of the train tracks || || || .|| .|| .|| If that comes out the way intended. Hm...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

On this HP printer, it doesn't even need connected to a computer to scan. It will scan right to a USB stick plugged into its front socket. Or scan and print out a copy. It will scan and FAX also, if I plugged a phone line into it. I've been reading up on the Konica/Minolta all-in-ones to see if they...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

Many eons ago, I used to do chip level repair on gaming machines. At that time I was able to figure out a lot of the problems, and had a direct line to Williams/Bally and several others. They were always ready to help fix whatever ailed one of the machines, and in some cases, asked me how I fixed a ...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

On-line or off, the appearance of a product goes a long way toward a customer selecting your product over some other brand, although my particular product has no competition in the same category, but devices that take place of needing my product. I would say about 90% of the sale of my product is th...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

Wish I could afford the printer I really want, but at my age, and with my only product sales down to near zilch, it is definitely not cost effective or feasible anymore. Don't know if you remember the Dye-Sub printers or not. They still make them. The model I bought was designed for placing photogra...

Every external part that appears whitish are soapstone panels, and the entire inside is layers of soapstone.
Excellent heat output for what little wood they used.
They are too heavy for even two people to lift, unless they are musclebound weight lifters, hi hi.

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

I had one cheap inkjet printer that you could not refill the cartridges. The company did sell one you could refill for about four times the price. I looked into a couple of commercial grade laser printers, but that's all they do is print. I supposed I could buy a normal color laser printer and buy a...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

You might love this story. Back in the late 1980's and early 90's I had a couple of small businesses where I printed full color tri-folds, multi-page bulletins, and pamphlets. I had an expensive high-speed printer, commonly called a crash printer, because it ran at just under 100 pages a minute. Sup...

Re: Rock And Roll

We did use our catalytic converter after the stove warmed up. I loved the design of ours, but being soapstone and no sharp corners to speak of, although it held and gave off a lot of heat, about the only place one could get burned was to touch the flue pipe in the back, which was already almost impo...

We don't like Albacore Tuna, but it would have been on a different shelf than the canned Fruits were on. In my case, Tuna would have been on the single-use items shelf, along with Spaghetti-O's, hi hi. My house in Creve Coeur originally had one of those super deep single door pantries over the basem...

Re: HP printer back to its original problem.

Over a dozen different websites rated this printer as the best for home and small office. They still do! After getting burned by HP really bad twice when I was down and out and trying to get back on my feet, I swore I would never buy another HP product. I used a Konica/Minolta laser color printer fo...

It's partly cloudy here, wind about 10mph with no gusts, no rain.
Looks like it won't make it this far as first predicted.

If FEMA does send stuff, it will probably be blocked and parked somewhere until it rots like in Puerto Rico.
