Good Day

I'm now contemplating the events of the day. It is the conclusion of Earth Day 2018. It was a good day.

Re: Microsoft Linux Distro

I get notifications from the hosts of this website just about every month. They change the certificates that often. If there were more than three of us using this place, I might be tempted to go SSL and see what it's all about. The only security issue is the password you use for login. If it is uniq...

Re: Microsoft Linux Distro

Being the skeptical old curmudgeon I am, I find it hard to believe anything on the Internet is free - thinking Facebook here. Then again, I can guarantee that there is no cost to any of our members to use THIS website. Plus, do you really want to trust your domain security to an ACME server? I know ...

Re: Microsoft Linux Distro

When I worked for a living the company standardized on Microsoft products. We used the Outlook Mail/Calendar software extensively. It had some pretty nifty features. Thunderbird has similar features these days, but unless you are running Mozilla software on your machine, you can't share calendars or...

Re: palm oil

It seems that if you leave people to their own devices, more often than not they will consume what their body needs at the moment. As far as harming the animals goes, it's either them or us. It's a no-brainer if you ask me.

Microsoft Linux Distro

Yes, you read that right. The last thing in the world I ever expected is for Microsoft to create a Linux kernel and use it to run its products. But, sure as shootin' that is exactly what the boys in Redmond did. It's not going to be mobile or desktop oriented, however. The current release is primar...

For Crying Out Loud

I'm guessing we all have cried out loud at some point in our life. Have you done it outside? Deliberately? Just to relieve the stress? If so, then you must know some places are better than others to engage in this activity. Apparently the folks in Seattle are really into crying. They made a map of t...

The Cricklers I like are the ones based on current events (there are others). They give the link to the story which you can read to make the puzzle easier to solve. The best part is that when you enter a correct word, the letters from that word fill in other words in the puzzle. Try doing THAT with ...

At Motorola, a global company, inventory control was critical to the success of the business. SAP was popular, but it had a couple competitors which were used within the global operations. Huge sectors of the company could not share date electronically because of the companies who thought they had b...

I love crosswords, but don't get around to doing them much. My antics in the world of geekiness helps keep my brain fresh and dry. Wife, on the other hand, plays online games, such as scrabble and Words With Friends. She also does jigsaw puzzles. If you are looking for something different that will ...
